Atlas Performing Arts Center - Washington, DC

Special Events Manager

  • Oversaw and managed the rental and logistical use of all Atlas venues and spaces for special event usage and Atlas driven or artist driven community engagement activities and initiatives.
  • Oversaw, scheduled and conducted all tours of the space for potential clients.
  • Oversaw and ensured all special events activities and initiatives are scheduled and recorded in Atlas event management system (EMS) for proper scheduling and coordination with all other scheduled performances, rehearsals and space usages.
  • Solicited, negotiated and executed all contracts for special event usage activities overseeing all client relations and customer services.
  • Acted as day of event contact to manage and oversee all logistics and client relations
  • Oversaw and managed all marketing and promotion for special event usage and rental including but not limited to web, social media and advertising along with the creation and development of marketing collateral.
  • Coordinated the management and success of all special event activities across all departments including Programming, Communications, Development, Production, Front of House, Facilities and Finance. Managed and ensured that all certifications and licenses are in place and up to date including, but not limited to, ABRA, ServSafe, Etips and Clean Hands.
  • Oversaw and managed all clerical duties and reporting requirements as necessary

  • Provided branding, marketing and design support to effectively promote the organization’s work and brand to its audience and presenters
  • Streamlined the look and message of the organizational brand
  • Managed organization’s marketing strategy – including social media channel
  • Successful marketing and communications campaign to achieve – “sold out” status for annual fundraiser performances (Home Performance Series) in 2009, 2010 and 2011
